“For we are laborers together with God…”
1 Corinthians 3:9

Founded in 1888, the main purpose of Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) is to educate and involve preschoolers, children, youth, and adults in the cause of Christian missions. Women on Mission (WOM) groups are for adult women.
Adults
JMBC currently has 2 WOM groups – the Carol Knight and the Barbara Deal groups – who gather monthly to:
- learn about missions
- pray for missions
- support missions
- do missions and witness
- develop spiritually toward a missions lifestyle
- participate in the work of the church and the denomination
The day group meets on the 1st Thursday at 10:30 AM. An evening group meets on 3rd Monday at 7:00 PM. Check the church calendar for specific dates and meeting times or call the church office for more information.
Children
Coordinating with the Director of Children and Preschool, the WMU also provides Preschoolers (Toddlers – 4 years old) and Children (grades K5 – 5th) with the opportunity to learn about missions every Wednesday. Mission Friends (for Preschoolers) engage in activities centered on what the Bible says about missions. They learn about our missionaries, and how children can share the love of Jesus with others. Children in Action examine what Scripture says about missions, where and how our church participates in missions, and what kids can do to take part in spreading the gospel message.
