Senior Pastor

Dr. Thomas Larson

Pastor Tommy served churches in Suffolk and Hampton before coming to JMBC in July, 2015. He and his wife Daina have three children. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University, Master of Arts, Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

Pastor Tommy loves reading and is a sports fanatic – golf and fishing are favorite things.

One of his favorite and key life verses is Psalms 37:4 – “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (NIV)

Associate Pastor of Education and Administration

Rev. Raleigh Baggett

Raleigh worked for Norfolk Public Schools for 32 years; during this time he served in numerous volunteer positions at several churches, including JMBC.  After retiring in 2001, he attended Southeastern Theological Seminary completing courses in the Master of Divinity program for Minister of Education and followed the Lord’s leading to his current position at JMBC in January of 2016. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina State University and a Master of Science degree from Old Dominion University. He and his wife Faye have one son and one grandson.

Raleigh loves yard work and drawing house plans.

His favorite verse of Scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (NIV).

Associate Pastor of Outreach & Missions

Rev. Kevin Hinman

Kevin has been an ordained minister since 1993, having served as an Evangelist, Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Interim Pastor. He balances his part-time role at JMBC with serving as President of Leadership Training International, a ministry that trains church leaders in the USA and overseas. Kevin graduated from GE’s corporate leadership program and holds a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Communication from Regent University. He and his wife Carol have three children. Kevin loves people, sports and humor!

His favorite Bible verse is I Thessalonians 1:5 – “Our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.” (NIV)

Preschool and Children’s Director

Mary Terwilliger

Mary Terwilliger has such a heart for preschoolers and children and has been in the preschool/children’s hall for the last 16 years – on Sundays and during the week with Jackson Christian Preschool. She answered the call to JMBC’s Preschool and Children Ministry Director in December 2017. Mary has often been heard saying, “there is nothing sweeter than hearing and seeing God’s Word through their eyes.” She passionately wants those she serves with as well as the children and their families to know that they are loved and precious in the eyes of the One who created them.

Mary received an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education in December 2018. She is committed continued growth both spiritually and professionally, always striving to be the best Mary God has called her to be. Her purpose is found in Psalm 78:7, “Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget His deed but keep His commands.”

Youth Director

Andrea Cofield

Andrea Cofield has always had a desire to work for the church but did not know exactly where the Lord was leading her.  Since then, she has received her Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Liberty University.  She also completed the Rigging Apprenticeship at Norfolk Naval Shipyard and worked her way up to become an Engineering Technician. Andrea has also received her Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling from Regent University. She has many accomplishments, but her favorite is being a mom to her two beautiful daughters.

Andrea has been a volunteer and teacher for many age groups in the church.  In late summer of 2018, she and her husband Lee began helping with JMBC’s youth group.  Immediately, they both grew a love for the teens.  Andrea believes that with the knowledge she has gained over the years, she can easily connect with the teenagers and help them grow spiritually. She knows this is where God needs her – sharing and spreading the gospel with JMBC youth, working alongside her husband and the Youth leadership team.

Andrea loves spending time with her husband and their two beautiful daughters doing things such as hiking, going to the beach, sitting by a fire, and camping.  She also likes attending sporting events and concerts. In general, she thoroughly enjoys the outdoors.

Andrea loves this Bible verse is Colossians 3:2 – “Set your mind on things that are above, not on things that are on the earth.”

Minister of Music

Ian Hardee

Ian Hardee was called as JMBC’s Pastor of Worship in August 2021.  Ian was born in North Carolina, then moved to New Mexico where he grew up adventuring outside, immersing himself in stories, and playing in the latest band he had formed.

After high school, Ian attended Wayland Baptist University to earn his degree in music and religion.  It was there, at school in Texas, that he discovered the world of board games and met and married his wife, Hannah in 2016.  Ian spent the next five years serving as a youth and music pastor back in New Mexico before moving to Virginia in 2021.

Ian is usually found with a book in his hands, telling someone about his most recent hobby or serving as a human jungle gym to his children. He and his family are thrilled to be serving and leading others to worship our mighty Savior here at Jackson.
